Since the 2013-2014 school year, when Sturgis Elementary received a grant to become a Leader in Me school, there has been a noticeable difference in the students, both academically and personally. There are 2,784 Leader in Me schools worldwide and currently Sturgis Elementary, Uniontown Elementary and Union County Middle School all participate in the program. It helps build their confidence, it empowers them, and makes them responsible students in our school.' It is composed of seven different habits, designed to teach students leadership.Дuring Leadership Day the staff and students at Sturgis Elementary were able to showcase just how the seven habits have made an impact on the students. This is a program that teaches leadership and life skills to students, while also creating a culture of empowerment. Sturgis Elementary School hosted a Leadership Day last Wednesday, November 2 in celebration of the recent implementation of the Leader in Me Program.
